The inside has a layer of vanilla as well and another cut out flower in the corner. I masked the front flowers as I was stamping and cut them out as one piece.

They're Back!

My SU! scrapbook pages are back! I sat down looking through them, so many memories... This is the first scrapbook page I ever made. I remember I was so proud at my accomplishment - though I am sure I copied the layout - LOL! My first scrapbook was 8-1/2 x 11 and Caroline was just a baby so this was over 8 years ago! I saw this cute card on Stampers' Showcase on 7/21, submitted by Dorothy Churchill - her card used True Friend and was much cuter with that set, but I did not have that set and so had to improvise with One of a Kind. It was used for the Make-N-Take.

Good Morning! I had a workshop last Monday and this card was one that I chose to demo for an outline stamp. It was pretty quick and easy, colored in with markers. I apologize for the shadow on the image...The base of the card is Almost Artichoke, then layered with Pomegranate, Mellow Moss (with leaf / branch images on the Mellow Moss - stamped with same color). The main images were stamped using Black Stazon ink and colored with Pretty in Pink, Rose Red and Mellow Moss markers. The sentiment is stamped with Pomegranate ink and Artichoke and Pomegranate card stock were used to layer again. The stamp set used is Embrace Life.

For some reason, Blogger is being tempermental and not allowing me to upload another card that I demoed at the workshop. So, I will attempt to come back in a little while and try again.

My daughter gave me a WONDERFUL foot rub and pedicure tonight while I stamped this card, which is based on a card Wanda P. posted on her blog a few days ago. The background images are kind of hard to see as they are stamped off to make them light. Hope you all had a wonderful day!

Here is a card with lots of layers, but very simple. Sometimes simple is better. Almost Artichoke is the base of the card with layers of Barely Banana, Mellow Moss, and Perfect Plum. The images are on Whisper White with the same colors of ink and Plum eyelets for embellishment. Let me know what you think!

How about this sketch? This is a Wednesday card sketch challenge from Splitcoast. I don't know about you, but using a sketch challenge like this takes me out of my comfort zone a little bit and also helps me to create my own cards. Here is what I came up with...

While I used three colors, it is not as colorful as I would like so I am going to work on another card in the morning and will post again. I would love to see what you can do with this sketch!

How About a Scrapbook Page...?

I haven't scrapped in sooooo long! But, I bit the bullet the other day and decided to work with the Level 3 Hostess Simply Scrappin' Kit. I just love the colors in this kit and can't wait to do a few more pages with it. This was my first time using chipboard too. I was a little too quick to adhere the letters as I would have liked to change the layout a little, but they were fun to work with. Of course, Blogger is not being very kind in allowing me to layout this post quite the way I would like. It should be interesting to see how it publishes. LOL!Thanks for stopping by. Here is my take on the Mojo Monday sketch by Julee..... Not my favorite, but it is what came to mind at the time. Sorry it took so long to post. Life just gets in the way sometimes ~ especially when your husband is home for a few days! LOL! The colors are Really Rust, Basic Black and Vanilla card stock, Really Rust ink. The Stems and Silhouettes Jumbo Wheel was used as well as one of the sentiments from Fresh Cuts ~ a new set in the Fall Catalog, which comes out August 11th! The new catalogs are on preorder. I obviously need to work on my photography skills (or lack thereof - LOL!). I never can quite get the correct lighting, or angle for that matter! It is on my list..... But you get the general idea of the card. The original layout came from Sandy Hoefakker and I tweaked it a little with paper and embellishments. We actually made this card at one of my stamp-a-stacks last month. Again, it is much prettier in person.

Good Morning! Now that I am back home and getting back into the swing of things, I am going to try to post a lot more samples in the hopes of inspiring someone's creativity out there. As stated before, a lot of my card designs have been CASE'D (copied and share everything) and maybe tweeked a little bit, but lately I have come up with a lot of my own designs too. I will post a weekly card sketch based on the one issued by SCS as well. I would love your feedback, questions, comments, etc.

Today, I am posting a card design that I CASE'D and tweeked, but I apparently did not record the original designer as I usually try to do. I apologize for that and if you are or know the designer, please let me know so that I can give credit.

I got to stamp a little bit today and help my mom make some cards for a friend of hers. This card uses the Priceless set. You can't really tell by the picture, but the Basic Black piece of card stock was run through the Cuttlebug using the DiVine Swirl embossing folder. The layer under the black is a piece of designer paper from Afternoon Tea. The two flowers in the middle were cut out, attached together with an eyelet, and mounted with a dimensional. Good morning everyone! I am sure you all thought I fell off the face of the earth... I am still in NJ, but just for a few more days. I have a couple of new customers who placed an order with me before I left which my daughter was supposed to deliver for me. However, she has had some vehicle issues (another story altogether) and I didn't bring the new e-mail addresses or phone numbers with me to contact you to see if you wanted to pick them up. I am so sorry! I should be home early next week and will get them to you right away.

While here, though, I have made a present for my mom. She has always been wonderfully supportive of me and likes to receive little things for no reason. I can't take credit, as usual, for the original idea. I saw this idea Splitcoast under the member gallery of thymebida and knew that she would love it (hope so anyway!).
