Diva Sketch 147

It's sketch time! This was a simple and straightforward sketch to work with this week. It is much easier for me to work with a layout in mind first. Then, sometimes (hopefully!) I can picture what stamp or stamp set or DSP I want to use with it.

Not much stamping on this card. I do love this color combination and I think the Cottage Wall DSP is so pretty. The punched flower is simply two of the 5-petal punch flowers layered on top with a rhinestone brad in the middle.

Supplies~
Stamps: Great Friend
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Pale Plum, Cottage Wall DSP
Accessories: 5-petal punch, Rich Razzleberry grosgrain ribbon, rhinestone circle brads

You KNOW I LOVE my punches! Well, the new Ornament punch from the Holiday Mini is just adorable in and of itself. But, I have learned that it can be quite versatile in that it creates a vase shape as well as a fish shape..... Obviously a must have!! LOL! Today's card was inspired by another demo, but I changed it up a bit and added some designer series paper from the Hostess Paper Pack.

Supplies~
Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes, Great Friend, Heard From the Heart
Ink: White Craft ink, Night of Navy
Cardstock: Kraft, Night of Navy, Whisper White, Night of Navy DSP from the Hostess Paper Pack
Accessories: Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Ornament punch, dimensionals, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

I did not get very good coverage on the embossed leaves on the vase itself (leaves are from Great Friend). I used a Night of Navy marker and the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to only ink certain words from the sentiment stamp and place just so.

I received some beautiful designer series paper from the Holiday Mini called Christmas Cocoa Specialty. So pretty! I saw a card on LNS by Melissa Riker made with this paper and decided to make a similar card. And so...out came Holiday Lineup. Such a cute set. Rudolph's nose has some Crystal Effects on it to make it shiny. I placed three red brads along the Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon so it wasn't so plain.

Supplies~
Stamps: Holiday Lineup, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Jet Black Stazon, Real Red
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP
Accessories: Modern Label punch, Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, Real Red brads, Crystal Effects, Pastels, Blender Pen

Diva Color Challenge 146

How about a color challenge this week? These colors were a little difficult to visualize going together at first, but once I got going, it seemed to flow easily. This card is very similar - almost identical except for the stamp set and one or two little changes - to a card I did a week or so ago,
but I actually did this one first and then the other for a Big Shot challenge submission for Late Night Stampers Group.
Supplies~
Stamps: Always
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Read Red
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay, Real Red, Vanilla
Accessories: Bermuda Bay grosgrain ribbon, Big Shot, Circles 2 die, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, scallop edge punch, paper piercer

I am happy with the end result of this card. It is based on a card layout that I saw in the Catalog. I am getting a little ansy because I haven't been able to order anything from the Holiday Mini just yet, but hopefully I will be able to soon. I can't wait to start creating with some new product!

My Big Shot is getting some good use this week. Our Design Team Challenge with Late Night Stampers this week is to use our Big Shot on our projects. It is kind of hard to tell from the pictures, but I used the large circle scallop and cut through two layers - the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP as well as a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock (the curry is on the inside). I used some Mono to adhere the two layers together and then cut off part of the scallop so that the bottom edge was straight. I made two of these and then put together a little box inbetween for a "gift basket" type project. After running the butterflies through the Big Shot as well, I then took them and put them in one of the embossing folders to give them added dimension. The ribbon was added to each side of the box or basket for a handle. I used the same ribbon to wrap around the baggie that the candies are in on the inside. Sorry for the poor quality pictures. I was getting better for a while there, but being at my sister's house, everything seems to be a little off.

It's Friday. We are relaxing today, packing and gearing up for the long drive tomorrow! It will be good to get home again, though, and back into a routine. My card looks so dark today, LOL! The top base layer is actually Bashful Blue with Bashful Blue ink. The designer paper comes from the Bashful Blue DSP pack.

Supplies~
Stamps: Medalion, Always
Ink: Bashful Blue
Cardstock: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Bordering Blue, Bashful Blue DSP
Accessories: Bashful Blue 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Modern Label punch, Scallop edge punch, dimensionals

It is Thursday and I am starting to dread my ride home. If it weren't for having to work, maybe I could delay it just a little longer.... Oh well. Today's card required markers to get two different colors of ink on the one stamp. I only brought my In-Color markers with me and my spots so I had to use an Old Olive spot to get the olive color. Fortunately, they are small so I didn't do too bad. LOL!

Supplies~

Stamps: Thoughts and Prayers, Kind and Caring Thoughts
Ink: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Cottage Wall DSP
Accessories: Old Olive 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Flower brads, Eyelet border punch

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoy your day!

DIVA Color Challenge

Happy Hump Day! The Divas have a color challenge to work with this week. I love these In-Colors! Pictures just don't do them justice! My designer series paper comes from the Cottage Wall paper pack this time. It is a bit hard to tell in this picture, but the base of my card is Soft Suede and the ribbon is really Rich Razzleberry.
Supplies~
Stamps: Great Friend
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Cottage Wall DSP
Accessories: Paper Snips, Rich Razzleberry grograin ribbon, dimensionals

On the inside, I stamped the butterfly in Rich Razzleberry and then cut out another butterfly and placed it over the original stamped butterfly to create a "mask" before stamping the leaf image. This helped give the effect of the butterfly being on top of the leaves.

Good Morning! I am getting lots of creating done here at my sister's house! I love it. Plus, she has the space where I can leave my stuff out undisturbed! Today's card uses a sketch, but I can't exactly remember where this sketch originates from. I happened to see it on someone elses' blog and printed it out. The keyword to use this sketch on SCS is FLLCSEPT, if that helps....so, if this is your sketch, please let me know!

Anyway, this is my take on the sketch. It seemed to flow pretty easy once I got going with it. Both pieces of designer series paper are from the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP pack.

Supplies~

Stamps: Kind and Caring Thoughts
Ink: Crushed Curry
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP
Accessories: Crushed Curry grosgrain ribbon

What do you think? This card is much more vibrant in person. Of course, I am still trying to make sure all of my cards are finished on the inside as well before posting. This way, they are ready to go! Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Good morning. I am a little stressed this morning ~ but what else is new? LOL! My mother is sitting over my shoulder as I write this and is making me nervous. Just kidding, mom. I am still at my sister's house. She has just gotten a new computer and loading all of my "stuff" on to it has been a chore. But, it is finally on there and so now I can get back to creating in between our constant running.

This morning's card uses a new set to me, Wedding Sweet, as well as the Big Shot.

Supplies~

Stamps: Wedding Sweet

Ink: Bermuda Bay

Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Certainly Celery, Vanilla

Accessories: Bermuda Bay grosgrain ribbon

The background Celery piece uses a Texturz Plate run through the Big Shot to give it an embossed design.

I think we are going to take a ferry ride through the New York Harbor today. It isn't too hot so it will be nice! Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

Divas love Wednesdays!

It is Wednesday again! Time for another Diva Coffee Break Designs challenge. This week we have a sketch to work with. I flipped my sketch around a little bit to make it fit the stamp set and I was working with. I love the flexibility of being able to interpret the sketch any way we see fit. This is the card I came up with. I know the picture quality is poor, but the photo was taken with my cell phone and then emailed. My two youngest children and I are traveling and are staying with my mother-in-law for a few days this week. However, I didn't take into consideration that she did not have the software for my camera and, well, you can figure out the rest. I obviously did not plan very well. To add fuel to the fire, GMail was having technical difficulties this afternoon so when I tried to retrieve the emailed file, I was unable to. It's always something!!

Anyhoo...it is midnight and we are home from dinner / mini amusement park rides, etc and I am finally getting it together! On Friday I will be back at my sister's house and resuming regular posting. I know she has all that I need because I loaded it all on her computer! LOL!
Supplies:
Stamps: Simple Friendship
Ink: Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry
Accessories: Scallop edge punch, scallop circle punch, paper piercer, Crushed Curry grosgrain ribbon
