It's Monday Again!

It's Monday again. You know what that means..... Mojo Monday! Here is Julee's Monday Mojo sketch. I had a much easier time with this week's sketch than I did with last week's!

The base of my card is Mellow Moss followed by layers of Bravo Burgundy, Recollections DP (retired) more Mellow Moss and Vanilla. The rest is pretty self-explanatory, though I did stamp the bold small flower image from Heartfelt Thanks on the top piece of Burgundy and the outline small flower on the bottom piece of Burgundy. I know it is hard to see with the picture lighting. I stamped the outline small flower image again on Vanilla in Burgundy and cut it out, attaching it to the front with a dimensional. Four vintage brads were used as well as the scallop edge punch.
Let's see what you can come up with. This was a fun sketch. Thanks Julee!

Embracing Bleach

Our stamping task for bootcamp this past week was to try a new technique. I had tried bleaching once before, but it was so long ago and warranted trying again. At first, I tried using a Clorox Bleach Gel Pen, however, that did not give me enough control over the flow of bleach. So, I squeezed some out on a disposable plate and used a fine-tipped paint brush. My images, though, were first stamped with Black craft ink and embossed with clear powder to help me stay in the lines. The greeting was embossed as well. As you can see, the bleach pulls the color out of the card stock wherever you apply it. It is a pretty affect. The base of my card is Night of Navy, followed by a layer of Baja Breeze, Whisper White, another layer of Night of Navy and then finally the Embrace Life image embossed onto Baja Breeze. White grosgrain ribbon was wrapped around the top two layers and the three ovals were cut out with the Coluzzle. The sentiment comes from Elegant Cheer. Thanks for looking!

Upsy Daisy

I made this card for a dear friend I have been missing and thinking so much about in the last couple of days. The base of the card is Whisper White with layers of textured Chocolate Chip, Bella Rose designer paper, another layer of textured Chocolate Chip and then the image stamped on Whisper White in Ridinghood Red. The sentiment is stamped in Chocolate Chip. Accessories used are the scalloped edge punch, white gel pen, white brads and Chocolate Chip taffeta ribbon. The same image is stamped on the inside of the card in Ridinghood Red. So quick and easy!

How about a little Mojo Monday on Tuesday? Here is the sketch that Julee has posted on her blog, Poetic Artistry, for this week. It isn't as easy as it looks, though. Give it a try and see what you come up with.I worked and worked and worked on this card, and still I am not happy with the end result. It is VERY vibrant, as I was trying to step out of my comfort zone a little and use some new colors. I ended up flipping the sketch a little and, since my sentiment square and bee circle aren't very big, they don't overlap as in the sketch. I enjoy working with sketches as they give me a springboard to start with. Thanks, Julee!
Supplies:
Stamps: Best Yet, Bloomin' Beautiful
Inks: Old Olive, Black Stazon, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red
Paper: Washington Apple DP, Whisper White, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red
Accessories: Real Red wide grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals, blender pen
Have a wonderful evening. Thanks for stopping by.

Playing with my New Big Shot

Loving the Big Shot! Stampin' Up! has partnered with Sizzix and is offering the Big Shot along with 10 exclusive dies for this die-cut machine that coordinate with our products. These exclusive Stampin' Up! dies are not available anywhere else! Of course, I had to buy the Big Shot starter kit SU! was offering demonstrators and I (and my two youngest children) had so much fun exploring the possibilities! This card has a base of Kiwi Kiss, on the front of which I used the scallop border punch and the white gel pen. A layer of Chocolate Chip followed by Pink Pirouette come next. The ticket punch was used on the corners of the Pink Pirouette before brads were attached. The Kiwi polkadotted paper comes from the Bella Rose Designer Paper. A strip of Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain underneath a strip of white 1/4" grosgrain were placed on the designer paper. The flowers, leaves and the bird come from the Birds & Blooms Sizzlits Die 4-pack (SU! exclusive). The sentiment is a stamp from the Level 1 hostess set Best Yet. Let me know what you think!
Contact me to find out how you can get your Big Shot. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Hump Day! Hope you are having a great week. Today's card is floral again (surprise, surprise!!) using the Embrace Life set along with the Best Yet Level 1 hostess set for the sentiment. The base of the card is Baja Breeze and the layers that follow are Vanilla, Bella Rose Designer Paper, with another layer of Vanilla and Baja Breeze. The scallops were made using the Nestabilities run through the Big Shot. Brown Brads and Vanilla grosgrain ribbon add some dimension and the floral images were colored lightly with the blender pen and Baja Breeze ink before being cut out and applied with dimensionals.
Thanks for looking! Have a wonderful day.

I am definitely lacking in the inspiration department this morning and so have chosen to CASE this card from Jackie Pedro with just a little tweaking. The stamps used are Embrace Life and Elegant Cheer. The base is Ridinghood Red card stock with layers of Whisper White, Pink Pirouette and two small pieces of Bella Rose Designer Paper. The flowers were stamped in Black Stazon so that I could color them in with the blender pen using Ridinghood Red. The sentiment was stamped in Ridinghood Red as well. I did run the top piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot with the Swiss Dots (Cuttlebug) embossing folder and used the new scalloped edge punch on the Pirouette Pink. I placed another piece of Whisper White on the inside with the same floral image stamped a few times at the bottom and colored in as well.

Thanks for looking. Have a wonderful day!

It's Mojo Monday. Julee Tilman has posted another beautiful card layout to work with this week. If you haven't already, check out her blog, Poetic Artistry. Her cards are absolutely beautiful and such an inspiration! I used this Mojo Monday sketch to create my own card today. My Whisper White base was cut to 4.25 x 11 and folded in half so that the crease is at the top. The other card stock colors I used were Baja Breeze, Pacific Point and textured Chocolate Chip. The stamps used are Beautiful Blooms and Fresh Cuts.; brown brads and Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon accessories.

Of course, my white edges were sponged with Pacific Point. The image was stamped in Black Stazon and colored with my blender pen and Pacific Point, Old Olive and Creamy Caramel inks. Also, for a little more texture, I ran the Baja Breeze card stock piece through the Big Shot with a Swirls embossing folder (Cuttlebug folder). I sometimes like to decorate the inside of my cards as well as I did here. I simply stamped the main image again on the inside and colored to match the front.
I would love to see what you come up with. If you make a card using this sketch, just link to Julee's blog as well as mine - or send it to me and I will for you! Looking forward to seeing your creativity! Thanks for stopping by.

Look what I did! I am always so amazed when I try something new and it works. My sister had a plain, white coffee mug just sitting in her cabinet. Well, it is not plain anymore! (Probably won't be found in her cabinet anymore either!) I know the picture isn't the best as I took it with my cell phone. Pretty cool, though. I used the rub-ons from SAB in Old Olive. Filled with candy or some other small goody, this would make a cute gift. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great afternoon.

So here we are....

Spent the weekend with my mother-in-law. I hate that she is so far away from us, but who knows what the future holds... The weather was beautiful. She lives right on the water at the Jersey Shore. Now we are back at my sister's house. A little excitement here while we were gone. My sister-in-law and brother had a baby. Makayla Elizabeth was born on Sunday. She is so sweet and beautiful! I will try to get some stamping done tonight to post. Thanks for checking in. Have a wonderful day!
